Dear Friends, It is indeed a great honor to be elected as the National President of the CCWI. I am deeply moved and thank you for the confidence you have reposed in me. I humbly accept this with the prayer that I may be able to primarily glorify our God and give him honor by the works that I shall carry out as your president. The Association plays a critical role in helping to address societal problems, especially problems of women and children. Our Catholic values, teachings and traditions provide the foundation for the work CCWI does. Therefore I commit to provide the leadership the Association requires in order to achieve its objectives and implement its strategies. I commit to respond to the needs of the members in helping them achieve the goals of the CCWI. I would like to thank the outgoing Executive Committee Members – President: Rosie John; Vice Presidents: Jane Ancil and Nikunj Francis; General Secretary: Anita Lukose; Honorary Treasurer: Phyllis Ignatius and all members of the Executive Committee for their contribution. I also like to congratulate and welcome the new Executive Committee Members and I ask for your support, commitment and encouragement to journey together to achieve the objectives of the CCWI. We are called to share the message of love and service to others. While we recognize that we can only do so much, remember that “all things can be made possible with God on our side”. I am open to ideas from every one of you to make the CCWI remain focused on what we have to achieve. We are the salt of the earth. We can add taste and flavor to the common life. According to the apostle Paul, we must also use our words like salt to season or benefit those we talk to (Colossians 4:5-6). This Conference is a milestone as we celebrate 50 years of our existence. I would like to thank the Shillong Unit for all the hard work put in to make this Conference very successful. It exceeded our expectations. Congratulations Naomie, Marisstella and the entire team. We will surely go back with pleasant memories and how we can apply what we take back to make life better on the planet we share. Thank you once again for this opportunity to serve you as President of CCWI. I appreciate your faith and I will strive in every way to be worthy of your confidence and to fulfill my duties the best I can. wish you all well and urge each one of you to continue our journey with imagination, openness and courage to help CCWI grow and fulfill the purpose of our mission. Let us therefore go forth with renewed vigor in this endeavor, that we be good vessels of the virtue of Christ for the world. That we be the genuine salt, which will never lose its savor. And the genuine light, which can never be overcome by darkness.
